Sports Taping in Hythe, Southampton

Sports taping gives a joint or muscle extra support while you train, compete or recover. At my clinic in Hythe, I use both kinesiology and rigid taping, chosen to suit your body, your sport and what you need the tape to do.

Is it right for you?

Who it’s for

Taping is useful for:

  • Athletes who want support for a match, race or competition
  • Anyone returning to sport after a sprain or strain
  • Runners and gym-goers managing a niggle while they build strength
  • Clubs that need players taped before matches (ask about pitch-side cover too)

You don’t need to be competing to benefit. For many people, taping simply helps them stay active while an injury settles.

What to expect in a session

I’ll assess what you need first, then choose the right tape for the job.

Kinesiology tape
Stretchy tape that moves with you. It’s often used to support muscles and joints during movement and can be worn for a few days.
Rigid tape
Firm, non-stretch tape that limits unwanted movement of a joint, such as an ankle, during sport. It’s usually applied just before activity and removed afterwards.

Taping usually works best as part of a wider plan rather than a fix on its own, so it’s often combined with an injury assessment or a sports massage. I’ll explain why I’m using it and how long to keep it on.

The price depends on the area and the amount of tape used. If you have sensitive skin or have reacted to tape before, tell me and I’ll check before applying it.

Whether you’re in Hythe, elsewhere on the Waterside or over in Southampton, taping can be booked online or added to another appointment.
