Hands-on treatment

Myofascial Cupping in Hythe, Southampton

Myofascial cupping uses suction cups to gently lift and stretch the skin and the tissue beneath it, which many people find eases tightness and helps them move more freely. At my clinic in Hythe you can book it as a standalone 30-minute session or add it to a sports massage.

Is it right for you?

Who it’s for

Cupping can suit people who:

  • Carry a lot of tension in their back, shoulders or legs
  • Train regularly and want another way to support recovery
  • Enjoy massage and want to try something that works a little differently

It isn’t right for everyone. Some health conditions, medications and skin problems mean cupping isn’t a good choice, which is why I always talk it through with you first.

Cupping clients travel from Hythe, Dibden, Dibden Purlieu, Holbury, Marchwood and Blackfield. All local areas

Your appointment

What to expect in a session

  1. A quick health check

We talk through your health and what you’d like help with, so I can make sure cupping is appropriate for you.

  2. The treatment

I apply a light oil, then place cups on the area being treated. They can stay in one place or glide gently across the skin. Most people describe a strong pulling or stretching feeling rather than pain, and I’ll adjust the pressure as we go.

  3. Afterwards

Keep moving gently and let me know how you got on at your next appointment.

Cupping often leaves round marks on the skin. These are normal, usually aren’t painful and tend to fade within a few days. If you have an event or occasion coming up, mention it and we can plan around it.

Many people in Hythe and Southampton add cupping to a sports massage, but it works just as well as a session on its own.
