Who it’s for

Rehab is for anyone working their way back to something that matters to them, whether that’s a sport, a job or simply walking the dog without thinking about it. That includes:

  • Returning to sport after injury, from parkrun to rugby
  • Getting back to work and daily life after a strain or sprain
  • Recovering after surgery, where appropriate and in line with your surgical team’s guidance
  • Building back up after a long lay-off, or a niggle that keeps returning
  • Anyone who has been told to “strengthen it” and isn’t sure where to start

If we haven’t met before, we’ll usually start with an initial injury assessment so your plan is built on a proper picture of what’s going on.

People come to me for rehab from Hythe, Dibden Purlieu, Holbury, Marchwood, Fawley and Calshot. All local areas

Your appointment

What to expect in a session

  1. Review

Each follow-up starts with how things have been: what’s improved, what hasn’t and anything that has flared up.

  2. Hands-on treatment where it helps

Some sessions include soft tissue work or taping alongside your exercises, if that’s useful for you.

  3. Progressing your exercises

We work through your programme together, checking technique and adjusting the load so each stage feels challenging but manageable.

  4. Your next steps

You leave with an updated plan to follow at home or in the gym, and a clear idea of what we’re working towards.

Your rehab is built around your goals, your timeframe and the equipment you have, whether that’s a full gym or a resistance band at home. I’ll explain the reasoning behind each exercise, so you understand why you’re doing it as well as how.

My background in strength and conditioning means we don’t stop at “pain-free”. We aim for you feeling strong and ready for whatever you want to do next, whether you’re in Hythe, elsewhere in the New Forest or over in Southampton.

FAQs

Often, yes. Where it’s appropriate, I’ll work within the guidance from your surgeon or physiotherapist and progress your exercises at a pace that suits your recovery.

Yes. Most progress happens between sessions, so you’ll have a plan to follow. I keep it realistic for the time and equipment you have, and we adjust it at each follow-up.

It depends on your injury and your goals. Appointments are often closer together at the start and spread out as you become more confident managing things yourself.
